Weight Ton
There are three types of weight tons; 1) The short ton, weighing 2,000 pounds; 2) The long ton, weighing 2,240 pounds; and 3) The metric ton, weighing 2,204.68 pounds. The last is frequently quoted for cargo being exported from Europe. (TNDOT1)
