Type of Drive

Refers to which wheels the engine power is delivered to, the so-called "drive wheels." Rear-wheel drive, has drive wheels on the rear of the vehicle. Front-wheel drive, a newer technology, has drive wheels on the front of the vehicle. Four-wheel drive uses all four wheels as drive wheels, and is found mostly on Jeep-like vehicles and trucks, though it is becoming increasingly more common on station wagons and vans. (DOE4) (DOE5)
