Truck Size Classification
U.S. Bureau of the Census has categorized trucks by gross vehicle weight (GVW) as follows: 1) Light-Less than 10,000 pounds GVW 2) Medium-10,001 to 20,000 pounds GVW 3) Light-heavy-20,001 to 26,000 pounds GVW 4) Heavy-heavy-26,001 pounds GVW or more. (DOE6)
