Trade Policy Review Mechanism
The TPRM was created at the Uruguay Round mid-term ministerial meeting in
Montreal. Under the TPRM, the trade policies of any GATT contracting party
are subject to regularly scheduled review by the GATT Council. Reviews may
lead to recommendations on ways to improve a contracting party's trade
policies.
