Pilot
The helmsman on a riverboat. Also one who, though not belonging to a ship's company, is licensed to guide a vessel into and out of a port or through dangerous waters. (TNDOT1)
A person whose office or occupation is to steer ships, particularly along a coast or into and out of a harbor.
An employee assigned to a train when the engineer or conductor is not acquainted with the rules or portion of a railroad over which the train is to be moved.
A person who is qualified to assist the master of a ship to navigate when entering or leaving a port.
