Occupational Illness
Any abnormal condition or disorder caused by environmental factors associated with a worker's employment, but not the result of an injury. (FRA3)
Any abnormal condition or disorder of a railroad employee, other than one resulting from injury, caused by environmental factors associated with his or her railroad employment, including, but not limited to, acute or chronic illnesses or diseases which may be caused by inhalation, absorption, ingestion or direct contact. (49CFR225)
