Movable Dam
A dam that is predominantly constructed of a series of wickets which may be raised or lowered as water stages dictate for passing water through the dam. These wickets may all be lowered at the bed of the river and vessels may pass over the dam during periods of high water. The dam and/or river is then said to be "open". (TNDOT1)
