Mooring
The place where a craft may be secured to the ground, wharf, pier, post, or buoy. (DOI4)
A floating ball, can, or other structure, which is permanently secured to the harbor bottom by means of a heavy chain and anchor system and to which vessels are made fast, but able to swing to the wind and/or current. (BOC2)
