Hazardous Area Reporting Service
Flight monitoring for Visual Flight Rules (VFR) aircraft crossing large bodies of water, swamps, and mountains. This service is provided for the purpose of expeditiously alerting Search and Rescue (SAR) facilities when required. Radio contacts are desired at least every 10 minutes. If contact is lost for more than 15 minutes, SAR will be alerted. (FAA8)
