BTS Transportation Dictionary

The mechanically hinged hip point of a manikin which simulates the actual pivot center of the human torso and thigh, described in Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Recommended Practice J826, "Manikins for Use in Defining Vehicle Seating Accommodations," November 1962. (49CFR571)
