Fuel Oil, No. 4
A fuel oil for commercial burner installations not equipped for preheating facilities. It is used extensively in industrial plants. This grade is a blend of distillate fuel oil and residual fuel oil stocks that conform to ASTM Specification D 396 or Federal Specification VV-F-815C; its kinematic viscosity is between 5.8 and 26.4 centistokes at 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Also included is No. 4-D, a fuel oil for lower and medium-speed diesel engines that conforms to ASTM Specification D 975. (DOE2)
