Wharf
A landing place where vessels may tie up for loading and unloading of cargo. (TNDOT1)
A general term for any structure at which vessels berth or tie-up. The term is also used specifically for a berthing structure of open piling construction, aligned parallel with the shoreline, and referred to as a marginal wharf. (MARAD1)
