Navigable Pass
The water pass through which vessels may pass over a movable dam during periods of high water. The wickets of the dam are lowered to the riverbed and the water flows with little or no obstruction. Navigable passes are usually from 600 feet to 900 feet in width when the dam is lowered. These are found only in the Ohio and Illinois rivers. (TNDOT1)
