Lighter-Aboard-Ship
A type of barge carrying vessel equipped with an overhead crane capable of lifting barges of a common size and stowing them into cellular slots in athwartship position. Lighter Aboard Ship (LAS) is an all-water technology analogous to containerization. (MARAD1)
