Air Traffic Hub
Air traffic hubs are not airports; they are the cities and Standard Metropolitan Statistical Areas requiring aviation services. The hubs fall into four classes as determined by each community's percentage of the total enplaned passengers all services and all operations U.S. certificated air carriers in the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and other U.S. areas designated by the Federal Aviation Administration. Large: a community enplaning 1.00% or more of the total enplaned passengers; Medium: 0.25% to 0.99%; Small: 0.05% to 0.24%; Nonhub: Less than 0.05%. (FAA2) (FAA10) (FAA13) (FAA14) (FAA15)
