Dairy Export Incentive Program
DEIP, one of four export subsidy programs operated by the Department of
Agriculture, helps U.S. exporters meet prevailing world prices for targeted
dairy products and destinations. USDA pays cash to U.S. exporters as
bonuses, allowing them to sell certain U.S. dairy products in targeted
countries at prices below the exporter's costs of acquiring them. DEIP is
used to help products produced by U.S. farmers meet competition from
subsidizing countries.
